Debbie Gettles (Studied with Dr. Heck Mueller 2010-2015)
Debbie is a new (second career) Registered Nurse at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Nursing was something she always wanted to do and she made it a reality although a little later in life than most people do! Debbie graduated from the Mount Carmel second degree nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in February, 2014. While she is a novice nurse, she is loving it and working with colleagues and clients that are very dedicated to their profession. Debbie started taking lessons in 2007. Getting to meet and play with so many talented, interesting, and unique people has been one of the greatest pleasures of her ‘fluting’ career. She has taken lessons from several wonderful teachers and also played in several flute choirs. Getting older has some challenges, but overall, it is a wonderful time to continue learning and exploring areas of interest and talents. Debbie encourages anyone who has ever thought of playing the flute (or any instrument) to do it. She has had so much fun since turning 50 and looks forward to what the future will bring. Although, it doesn’t have to go too fast!!
